Thanks for your interest in learning more about Belleville Pride & MetroEast NEWS.
We are a grassroots digital publisher & advocacy that was begun in 2008 as an outreach of the Daniel McCree Foundation. We are independent of the Metro East Pride (MEPSI) Organization and seek to offer a venue for expression for everyone in the Southern Illinois and St. Louis Region.
Thanks in large part to the help of our contributors, we have contributors that help us stay informed about events not found in other media outlets. We invite you to share with us your interests and submit news, events or your own perspective on issues.
As the Editor of MetroEast NEWS, and director of the Daniel McCree Foundation, I have been honored to serve Southern Illinois as a former Vice-President of Metro East Pride 2010-2011, and as an advocate for HIV/AIDS & Suicide Prevention as well as issues of equality wherever the opportunity arises.
In 2011 we published our first Digital Directory after more than a year of consideration. The Digital Directory seeks to help bring the resources together in one place. After learning of many of our local business owners simply could not afford to advertise in well established media outlets such as the pride pages, we envisioned a better way to give voice to those of more modest means. We are thankful for the more than 4000 readers of our first two editions. As I like to say "Buy LOCAL or BYE Local".
If your considering low-cost ways to spread the word about your business, event or non-profit, I encourage you to contact me directly for assistance, or simply "checkout" anywhere you see a paypal button on our website. I would be happy to assist you in any way possible.
Sincerely, Colby Kluthe
