About MetroEast NEWS
As the editor of MetroEast NEWS, and the director of the DANIEL MCCREE FOUNDATION our vision has been to bring greater awareness to events and news specific to the Metro-East Communities. I have been honored to serve as an advocate for causes of social justice as a former Metro East Pride board member (2009-2010), Ezekiel Project Participant and continued partnerships with community organizations in both Missouri and Southern Illinois.
We are in fact blessed to have so many great organizations and establishments that create a vibrant and exciting opportunity for anyone who call the gateway city home. Most recently, we have been working in partnership with CESJ & TransHaven, in developing a Trans support group in Belleville as well as continued outreach projects in conjunction with the Daniel McCree Foundation. With the contributions of community leaders throughout our region we are glad to bring spotlight to news and events specific to the LGBTQIA communities of Southern Illinois and beyond.
Our Contributing Editors
“We seek to be a voice
for those who traditionally are not heard.”
The Daniel McCree Foundation advocates for Suicide Prevention as well as outreach in the areas of HIV/AIDS awareness. As we look forward to the coming year, we have decided to move to “THE ORG” and will continue our work at www.BellevillePride.Org
Our grassroots-based community is in fact organic and requires the collaboration of many people to share with you events and news you may not find anywhere else. In partnership with other community leaders we shall continue to utilize this and other platforms to further the causes of social justice and equality.
